Film is complete

As you can guess from the title, my first short animated film is now finished! Fortunately it was finished just in time to be entered into the DepicT film competition on July 8th, with 7 minutes to spare... so that was fun.

I'll be posting the link to the film once its online around the start of September. Until then, here's a few more screen shots from the film, enjoy!

Preparation for CalArts: 50 feet Life drawing challenge

So ive started up the weekly life drawing challenges again in preparation for CalArts and started off with 50 feet. I'd done something similar with hands a while back, but ive never spent any time looking at the structure of feet, how they bend, move, stretch, curve and just drawing feet.

It was nice to do something new and i figured i'd try out a few different techniques, changing to a different technique every other page or so. i feel ive definitely improved with how i draw feet so hopefully that'll show up when i attack a full body figure again.

Life drawing holiday sketch dump

As you can tell by the previous post, i spent the past week in Cornwall relaxing and doing some experimentation with life drawing. i wanted to spend a week just life drawing to see what sort of things i want to develop, as you can imagine theres quite a lot i want to work on, but im looking forward to it. I also wanted to get a big chunk of sketchbook completed with just external life drawing as i'd never done so before, you know, knocking out some of those 10,000 crappy drawings before the gold dust. Its been fun and im fairly pleased with the outcome, i dont think any of the drawings are 'wow' worthy but at least thats a stepping stone in the right direction.

So please feel free to critique and let me know any areas you think i should really focus on improving to add to my list.
